Ian M. Rolland (class of 1955) and his wife, Mimi, provided monetary support for the construction of the Rolland Welcome and Activities Center within the Nature Park. The building is a sustainably designed meeting space which serves as an informational trailhead. The exterior form was designed to mimic a perched turkey vulture among its roost. The Nature Park provides a natural habitat for turkey vultures and their roosting sites are found along the quarry rim. Local Indiana stone was sourced for cladding, the rafters are made of high recycled content, energy efficient lighting and windows were sourced. Among the grounds are native plant species providing low maintenance and no irrigation. The building was dedicated on April 21, 2006 alongside the Manning Environmental Field Station.
