For faculty, as you consider texts for upcoming courses please check if the library already has access. Our ebooks and electronic articles can often be used to support whole classes at no cost to students. We are happy to check titles for availability since not all ebooks can be purchased with appropriate access for multiple users. Just provide titles to us via our interest form and we will let you know if the title can be made available for whole class use.
Welcome to DePauw University Libraries Open Educational Resources Libguide. This guide is meant to give faculty a jumping off point for incorporating open access and low cost materials into your courses. This could include open educational resources such as open textbooks, library purchased materials, and other options of open access digital resources.
Please contact Victoria Peters, Scholarly Communication and Cataloging Librarian (email or appointment link below) for any questions on transitioning your course to low-cost materials.
Supported by a Lilly Endowment Inc. grant, PALSave supports student success and retention by fostering the use of Open Educational Resources (OER). The program provides collaborative resources and a framework for OER awareness, education, and engagement. In addition, it funds and supports faculty adoptions of affordable learning materials to enhance the teaching and learning missions of private higher education in Indiana. PALNI-supported campuses are affiliate members of the Open Education Network through this initiative.
The PALSave program offers a number of grant and stipend opportunities for faculty looking to develop and adopt open educational resources. Explore options:
