Business Meets Humanities NEH Grant

This curricular planning grant will support a variety of curricular design projects meant to identify the learning goals for an education in undergraduate business and leadership that is anchored in the liberal arts and humanities.

Introduction

Summer 2024 Workshop: August 13-14

This 2-day workshop is for faculty who are interested in participating in collaborative curricular design linking business and leadership to the humanities. Those who participate will receive stipends for their participation.

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Kendy Hess (College of the Holy Cross).

Tuesday, August 13

    • 10:00-10:15: Welcome and Introductions
    • 10:15-11:45: Prof. Kendy Hess: “We Need to Ask Better Questions" 
  • 12:00-1:15pm: Lunch (Daseke)
    • 12:30-1:00pm: Overview of NEH Grant and CLAS Listening Sessions
  • 1:30-2:45pm: Business Meets Humanities–An Interdisciplinary Faculty Panel (Daseke)

  • 10:00am-11:45am: Reading Group Presentations: key takeaways and proposals, particularly in relation to previous day’s work (Union 230)
  • 12:00-1:15pm: Lunch (Union 230)
  • 12:30-1:00pm: NEH Grant Opportunities
  • 1:30-3:00pm: “Taking Stock” Discussion (Roy O. West Library, Corrine and Paul Wood Room)
    • Small group discussion of keynote issues and workshop activities to brainstorm possible modules and syllabi, with funding opportunities provided
