Learning how to Learn Languages is a new open educational resource that a group of linguistics students at the University of Oregon created under the guidance of Dr. Keli Yerian, Linguistics Distinguished Teaching Professor, and the Director of the Language Teaching Studies MA program. For nine months, linguistics graduate student Bibi Halima and a team of undergrads—Addy Orsi, Abhay Pawar, Logan Fisher, Faith Adler, and Cameron Keaton—wrote and developed the textbook Learning How to Learn Languages. This how-to guide is useful for learners of all levels and can be used in various ways: as a complete textbook for a course, as supplemental chapters in language courses, or as self-study. This project is rooted in social justice values, as it provides free access to learning materials and invites the voices of diverse group students to contribute to the field of knowledge.
