This guide is for Professor Goeun Lee's Spring 2025 sections.

Databases for finding articles

Extra tips: Use broad search terms here. Avoid Anthropology News and any book reviews you find.

Extra tips: After you get search results, you can filter your results by subject, and choose Anthropology. It doesn't work perfectly, but it's a good start. You can always google the author's name to see if they are an anthropologist as well. Another thing to watch for in JSTOR is dates - there's a lot of much older content, so you might think about using a date filter if you want more current sources.

Extra tips: Academic Search Complete includes journals from all different disciplines. Unlike JSTOR, there's no way to filter your search results by subject or discipline. So the best bet is to try searching for journal titles that include some version of the word "anthropology." Note: there are lots of anthropology journals that don't include the word in their title, so this is hardly a perfect solution - but it will help get you some hits.
