U.S. Global Health Policy - Kaiser Foundation:  Data and resources on the U.S. role in global health. Includes news summaries, policy analysis, country data, webcasts, and fact sheets.

NLM Malaria Research Resources:  U.S. National Library of Medicine's Malara Research Resources. This resource was created to support African scientists and malaria researchers.

UN Millennium Development Goals:  The eight Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015 – form a blueprint agreed to by all the world’s countries and all the world’s leading development institutions.

Hesperian HealthWiki:  Hesperian is a not-for-profit publisher of resources for community health workers and marginalized populations around the world. Books, health materials and an image library are available in several languages.

HealthMap: Global Disease Alert Map:  Brings together several data sources on current global state of infectious diseases and their effect on human and animal health. Data is aggregated by disease and displayed by location on global and regional maps.

Gapminder: for a fact-based world view:  Uses software to display various statistics about global indicators and world's countries.

GBD: Global Burden of Disease

Global Burden of Disease Study: (The Lancet)  The Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) is the most comprehensive worldwide observational epidemiological study to date. It describes mortality and morbidity from major diseases, injuries and risk factors to health at global, national and regional levels. Examining trends from 1990 to the present and making comparisons across populations enables understanding of the changing health challenges facing people across the world in the 21st century.

WHO: DISMOD II for GBD:  DISMOD II is a software tool that may be used to check the consistency of estimates of incidence, prevalence, duration and case fatality for diseases.
