CASSI (CAS Source Index)

"Beyond CASSI" is a document (released in fall 2015) that contains short journal title abbreviations from early chemical literature and other historical reference sources that may not be listed in the print version of the CAS Source Index or the free online CASSI Search Tool.

Reference sources

Chemistry and biochemistry reference sources include traditional encyclopedias and dictionaries, as well as handbooks, physical property data and spectra data charts.

CRC Handbook of Chemistry & Physics, 96th edition (July 2015)

which is a nice complement to the print volume.

For those interested in the history of chemistry & physics, beginning with the 94th edition, and in each succeeding edition, highlights of the achievements of renowned chemists and physicists will be included.

The 95th edition features:  Galileo Galilei, James Clerk Maxwell, Marie Sklodowska Curie, and Linus Carl Pauling, who follow last year's group: Isaac Newton, Niels Bohr, Antoine Lavoisier and Dmitri Mendeleev.

The 96th edition features: Lord Kelvin, John Dalton, Michael Faraday and Robert Boyle.
