Artstor: Database Tips: Home

This guide is an introduction to the ARTstor database and how to use it.

About ARTstor

ARTstor is a digital library with more than a million images for the arts, humanities, social sciences, and more. Users can search for images by title, artist, genre, time period, type of art, date, and even the region where it was created. The artwork featured in the database is provided by libraries, galleries, artists, journalists, and museums from around the world.

This is an amazing source for all your art, art history, or general image needs! The zooming, panning, and side-by-side comparison features give you a close look at the image, and each image includes reliable background information on the artist, medium, location, etc. You can also print and save images or curate your own collection of images with a free account (for educational use only).
