EndNote Basic and EndNote: Citation Management Help Guide

INSTRUCTIONS

After performing a search in the Libraries Discovery Search, you may want to move the item citation into EndNote Basic.

To the right of the citation, click on the Arrow icon.  Among the choices in the drop-down menu will be "Cite record."

Select that option; a pop-up box opens titled Cite a Record.  Select Export A Citation > Cite with EndNote.

Your citation will be saved as a .ris formatted file; save the file.

Open EndNote Basic and select Collect > Import References.

Browse for the .ris file and select it.  In Import Option, select "RefMan RIS" and select a destination for the file.

Click Import.  Your citation should successfully be imported into EndNote Basic
